"PRAHA päikest piilumas" - Juuli 2023
12/03/2023
Kõrval kohe vaateplatvorm, kus avaneb maagiline vaade tervele Praha Vanalinnale.
"Peeking at the PRAGUE sun"- July 2023
To begin with, the lesson is that if you have spent a week at the Arles Photo Festival, it would be wise to take a 7-day break to download all the previous ones:). This time it happened that there was a day left for filtering, and midsummer Prague was already waiting. A city with wonderful architecture, full of fun and opportunities. Consciously, the so-called mandatory tourist tour was completed on the first evening, in order to then focus on enjoying the district. The hotel was a short walk from the old town. True, it was fatal at +34 degrees and wrongly chosen shoes, which required a visit to the pharmacy and a larger supply of plasters.
On the way from the hotel to the heart of the old town, we saw one of Prague's attractions - the Dancing House. With a small detour, we also found a Rotating Head of Kafka, which turned out to be a really interesting find and I recommend seeing it once in your life. To my delight, we came across a Banksy exhibition completely by chance, which I was not aware existed and was undoubtedly one of the best surprises of the trip.
Of course, we also visited the Jewish Quarter, which is an obligatory part of the tourist activity, but a thought-provoking and educational experience.
There is probably no point in describing the joys of a gloomy summer night, dinners with a view, reflections of the river, nocturnal adventures...
Speaking of night activities, the 50-minute boat ride between the bridges in the dark is a visually nice experience and offers colorful eye candy. Our boat ride started at 10 p.m. as a leisurely tour, the air temperature offered a pleasant breeze. There were few people and he bubbly drinks arrived quickly.
When I travel, I definitely try to get to an art gallery - as well as in Prague. The inspiring Prague Kunsthalle, which offers a very diverse selection. Right next to it is an observation platform with a magical view of the entire Old Town of Prague. Minutes away from the landing and parks... Before traveling, I also do a little preliminary work to explore exciting parts of the city, where there is more authenticity and a pleasant urban atmosphere. If in Vienna it is the 6th district - Mariahilf, then in Prague it is Holešovice, which is considered one of the TOP 10 coolest districts in Europe. It's worth going - 30 minutes by tram from the city center and you're in hipster Prague :).
Pleasantly retro-atmospheric and full of lively street art, where I was surprised to find the DOX of Contemporary Art, which instantly became one of my favorite exhibition venues. The house itself, if you could see and feel what it is - very inspiring. I was sitting in the DOX cafe and just felt that the corners of my mouth were full of satisfaction. You enjoy your iced coffee and being in the moment. Luckily, that's all you need - the right moment, recognizing it, enjoying it...
